Breaking News
Friday, June 15th, 2001: Jeter 5-5 for Kansas City
Kansas City third baseman Derek Jeter could do no wrong in today's 8-3 win over the White Sox as he collected 5 hits.

"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the White Sox said to the press corps after the game.

Jeter agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

D. Jeter singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.

Jeter is presently hitting at a .308 pace with 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and has scored 29 times.
Thursday, June 14th, 2001: Walker Suffers Injury
After the end of today's game between Chicago(A) and Kansas City, Larry Walker skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after running the bases, the White Sox had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The right fielder will miss at least 4 weeks with a strained achilles tendon.

So far this year in 66 games Walker is hitting .288 with 15 home runs, 44 RBIs and 54 runs scored.
Tuesday, June 12th, 2001: Red-Hot Kapler Scorches Twins
Gabe Kapler did all he could with his bat, but it just wasn't enough for the Chicago(A) White Sox to pull out a victory. The 25-year-old left fielder rapped out 5 hits in the game, but couldn't overcome the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox lost the game 7-6 today at Metropolitan Stadium.

G. Kapler singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Kapler is hitting at a .300 mark this season. His stats show 4 home runs, 36 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has played 63 games for the White Sox.
