The Philadelphia manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Cormier. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
So far this season Cormier has a 4-6 record with a 4.52 ERA. |  | Wednesday, May 30th, 2001: Injury Forces Torii Hunter Out Philadelphia fans will be disappointed to learn that Torii Hunter developed a damaged meniscus while making a defensive play in today's game. After the doctor informed the Philadelphia Phillies manager that Hunter was expected to miss 4 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the center fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
